The Economic and Social Council Continues Discussing the Amended Cyber Crimes Law

On Monday the 3rd of December 2018, the Economic and Social Council conducted a second session to discuss the draft amended Cyber Crimes Law. The majority of participants recommended retracting the law from the House of Representatives to be studied further and amended accordingly. Some participants expressed their views against retracting the law and towards presenting it to the House of Representatives and its Legal Committee. Other participants questioned the need for such law specific to Cyber Crimes in principle, given that there are other laws that cover this issue such as such as the Criminal and Publications laws.
