Shteiwi Participates in a Symposium on the Role of the Social Dialogue in Supporting the Stability of Labor Markets

The President of the Economic and Social Council, Dr. Musa Shtewi, said that the Council attaches great importance to social dialogue as a basis for teamwork and convergence of views between all parties. Shtewi added that Council focuses on the marginalized groups of people with disabilities, gives women full attention in terms of their rights, and attaches the utmost importance to issues of informal work and refugees by developing plans to solve the problems they face and integrate them into the labor market.

This came during Dr. Shtewi’s participation in the national symposium held by the Arab Labor Organization in Cairo on the role of social dialogue in supporting the stability of labor markets, to talk about the council’s role in institutionalizing and consolidating social dialogue between all parties to build astable relations in light of the changes in the labor markets.

Shtewi emphasized the importance of social dialogue as an essintial mechanism for developing cooperation between all parties, including employers, workers, the government, and all partners, including civil society institutions and trade unions.

Shtewi also stressed that social dialogue is of great importance in light of global economic transformations and in light of crises such as the Corona pandemic, and that it contributes to the improvement of public policies related to work and employment, reduces social inequality and sustainable development, and contributes to enhancing confidence in public or governmental institutions.
